This program is aimed mainly at DJs who also do karaoke and would like to key change some of their tracks whether it is to their own voice or to a regular's voice... The program's system requirements are fairly minimal for today's computer user, with the program requiring:
Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, XP,
700MHz+ processor RAM (98SE/ME need 128MB, 2000/XP need 256MB) At least 2GB of free hard drive space A video card with at least 8MB RAM The installation was relatively simple and swift, as I was up and running within 5 minutes. On opening the program you are greeted with a screen that looks something like this: You are then asked to choose the file that you would like to key change. The program at present only supports .wav files so, if like me, you are a Pc based Mobile DJ then you are going to have to convert your trusty mp3s to wavs. There are many batch programs out there that you can leave running and so it's a fairly easy thing to do. Having opened my track into the program I was then ready to start key changing my tracks. The program like all of MTU's (Micro Technology Unlimited) products is ridiculously easy to use with a few pushes of buttons and you have a fully key changed file. In the test I decided to use the track Alicia Keys - Falling as it's a track full of vocals and I could easily tell the difference. After importing the track you then select the key change factor that you would like and then click preview play and you can hear the track in its full key changed state. After finding the right key change factor I then clicked write file and it was finished the whole process lasting not much more than 10 minutes. This program is another superb release from MTU and I have nothing but praise for it. It's very easy to use but not lacking in sound quality. It's also well designed with the program being spilt in to 3 sections; Import, Key Change, Export/Preview.
