Martin Voyager

These lights come complete with IEC power leads, although you will have to fit a 13A plug yourself. This didn't really bother me, as I would have only chopped off the plug and fitted a special 3A connector for use with my controller.

As you would expect from Martin, these lights are built to last and have good, clear optics, and a superb light output considering the lamp is only 100w. The colour and gobo wheels are combined, and this unit cannot be linked to any form of external controller. However, there are plenty of gobos, and the sound to light reaction is good.

The only thing I don't really like about these lights is the split gobo 'feature'. Martin do actually list this on the specifications for the Voyager, although I say 'feature' because the split gobos appear to be due to laziness on the designers part. The stepper motor and control circuitry within the light do not align the gobo wheel, and this combined with the fact that the motor is capable of more steps than there are gobos on the wheel causes the split gobos.
