The 2007 Pro Light + Sound show will see a comprehensive range of Rosco products on its distributor Lightpower GmbH's stand and with partner CAST (C.Adolph & RST Distribution GmbH). The two companies will be showing different product lines with Lightpower focusing on Rosco's range of filters and CAST concentrating on projection.

Rosco is the world's largest manufacturer of colour filters and Hall 9.0 Stand B50 will see Lightpower showing a selection of products including Permacolor, ChromaSleeve and E-Colour as well as the newly re-certified B1 for Supergel - still the most widely used colour filter.

Permacolor dichroic glass filters are specifically designed not to fade or shift colour, Rosco's sophisticated manufacturing process also allows for precise batch to batch colour consistency unprecedented in other dichroic coatings. Permacolor filters are available in 24 colours and five standard sizes on durable borafloat glass 1.1mm (.043"), 1.75mm (.069") or 3.3mm (.129") thick. They can be custom cut in any size up to 342.9mm (13.5") in diameter.

ChromaSleeve, another groundbreaking range of colour filter is a body-coloured, extruded polycarbonate sleeve which adds colour to standard fluorescent tubes, but also protects against the dangers of lamp breakage by containing the shattered glass. Featuring a UV absorber to prevent premature colour fading, they are available in standard stocked colours (Dark Blue, Light Blue, Green, Red, Light Red, Purple, Pink, Yellow and Amber) or custom colours matched to any Rosco filter and are available for T12, T8, T5 lamps, with 1.2m (4') length as standard.

Meanwhile Hall 9.0, stand D71 sees the CAST will feature two new products, the X-Effects ripple projector and InfinityTM Gobo Animation Device in addition to the already well known iPro Image ProjectorTM, I-Cue Intelligent mirror, Vortex 360TM Dual Rotator, Keystroke interface and Rosco's standard and custom Gobos. Rosco's new gobo catalogue will also be available.

The X-Effects ripple projector provides large scale dimensional effects previously unavailable to lighting designers. Utilising a 200 watt Enhanced Metal Arc source, whose short arc allows for an output of 5K lumens and a 7000 hour lamp life, the colour temperature is similar to a Xenon source at 6000K but with nearly twice the luminous effectiveness of a halogen source.

The effect is created by rotating two "X" size glass gobos off centre of the optical path. This results in a projection that is highly unusual in that does not appear to have a visible direction or pattern.

The colour slot will accept dichroic colour filters and the projector includes onboard potentiometers to control the speed and direction of both gobos. Lens trains are available in 30, 50 and 70-degree configurations and, due to the efficiency of the lamp and the design of the optics, all lenses have crisp edges - even for long throws of 30.48m (100 feet) or more.

In addition to the standard model, a DMX-equipped version is also available. Using five DMX channels, the unit has full control of each effect gobo, lamp strike and light output. The DMX-controlled douser, also initiated through your lighting control board, directs blackouts and fades as well as the light output.

The new Infinity gobo animation device delivers superb kinetic lighting effects combined with simplicity of use and low cost.

The Infinity device affixes to the gel frame of virtually any spotlight. Choose from among 11 animation disks listed in the Rosco catalogue and website, affix one of the disks to the device, place a steel or glass gobo in the gate, plug the Infinity into an outlet or dimmer and watch magic appear on your stage or studio. The Infinity is equipped with on-board control of the Animation Disk speed and direction, as well as an on/off switch.

The stainless steel Animation Disks are 42 cm (16.5") in diameter and, being out of the focal plane, allows sharp focus on the gobo in the pattern slot while the rotating disk animates the effect of the gobo. The effect of rotating these disks creates moving effects such as fire, water or leaves. The key to the system is to choose the right gobo for the base effect.

The Infinity device is entirely self-contained with no additional controllers or power supplies required. It will fit the gel frame of luminaries such as Altman 1-K and any fixture with 7-1/2" gel frame. It is also supplied with an adaptor plate for Source-4 sized fixtures or any luminary with a 6-1/4" gel frame. It is also supplied with a user specified Animation Disk.

As well as the comprehensive range of products these two positions allow for, visitors will also have a chance to meet Rosco Vice President, Europe Kees Frijters, Director of Corporate Development Diane Grant, Development Manager, Central & Eastern Europe, India & Middle EastAndreas Dessloch and the newest member of the team Katrin Schlüter who joins Rosco as Development Manager for Benelux, Scandinavia, Iceland, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Austria and Switzerland.
