PID has enjoyed a busy year including moving to bigger
premises in west London
and launching a new web-site along with supplying digital media products like
Catalyst, Pixel MAD and Versa TUBE to various live entertainment sectors. The
company’s client base is also diversifying into architectural installations for
both retail and commercial projects.
At PLASA 05 PID features Element Labs’ dynamic

These will be controlled from a Pixel MAD system which
allows the playback of low-res video across LED or DMX fixtures.
The latest Catalyst software will be displayed,
running on both Apple MAC Powerbook and G5 platforms illustrating the many
cost-effective options now available for this easy-to-learn, video-optimised
digital media system.
PID also highlight the latest D-Tek products. These
are fast proving essential kit for visual and lighting designers wanting to
control multiple video devices from a DMX lighting desk.
Examples of PID’s
huge range of digital media clips will be playing back on all these systems,
illustrating the creative possibilities of both high-res and low-res imagery
that is ideal for Pixel MAD, Catalyst or any other digital media system.
The PID team will be on hand to discuss and advise on
any of their products along with info on training, installation and content
services.
Projected Image at PLASA
Projected Image’s sister company Projected Image, is
well known as a leading international gobo manufacturer. The company will be
highlighting the latest additions to its extensive gobo catalogue, plus some
recent changes in the operational infrastructure.
New Imagesetter: Another Step
Forward
Projected Image has just had a bigger and better
Imagesetter installed. This outputs film
at the even higher resolution of 5,048 DPI (compared to 3,600 DPI previously).
It enables the detail of colour artwork to become even finer, with a crisper
projected image and the added flexibility of progressive gradients.
New Website with Online Catalogue
Projected Image will be promoting its
new website at the show. This was re-launched in July, incorporating a new
online catalogue and packed with fresh innovative designs. The graphics team are constantly adding
designs to the organically growing collection, as well as encouraging clients
to add their own suggestions.
For
those unable to find what they need from the standard lists, Projected Image
offers a custom design service to fit exact requirements. These are then added
to the collection … and charged at the standard catalogue price.
The cost for catalogue gobos is still an incredible £6 per
metal gobo and £30 per mono glass gobo, plus same-day turnaround at no extra
cost.
New Addition to Projected Image
Team
Graphic designer Ben Blake joins the Projected Image team
as Products & Services Manager to streamline the company’s unparalleled
level of products and services. Ben will be on hand at PLASA with the rest of
the team, encouraging visitors to check out the new website and catalogue for
inspirational ideas and projection solutions.
