After research into moving to India's administrative capital of Delhi, the organisers of PALME India – the sub-continent's premier integrated entertainment technology show “ have decided the event will return to Mumbai later this year. We undertook a significant amount of research and, overwhelmingly, the response was positive towards Mumbai, "India's entertainment and investment capital", said Exhibition Manager James Raffoul for IIR Exhibitions. PALME India 2008, featuring hundreds of brands and with thousands of visitors driven by the growth of the sub-continent's fast-developing infrastructure, will be held from 3-5 October at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. PALME India is an offshoot of PALME Middle East, the sixth edition of which takes place in Dubai in April. Emphasising the importance of PALME India to the industry, Raffoul added: "India is the second fastest growing economy in the world and forecast to maintain high levels of development despite a global turndown." While the Bollywood film industry is the central entertainment focus, the events industry also continues to record dramatic growth. In addition, the growing number of luxury hotels, sports complexes and shopping malls require the latest in technology infrastructure and communication systems. As with sister shows PALME Middle East and PALME Asia, both Install India and Event 360 operate as separate shows within the PALME India umbrella, ensuring that the exhibition caters to rental stagers and audio-visual systems integration companies. PALME India is a strong platform for professional recording and broadcasting technology, architectural and theatre lighting, DJ technology, special effects and visual and sound communications for the entertainment, presentation, project installations, music and related industries.
