Automation specialists
Kinesys are using the opportunity of PLASA 2005 to launch their new control
solution, K2.
World
launch : K2
This ground breaking product
combines the best aspects of existing programming methodologies with some
stunning new concepts – in a system unrivalled for ease of use and programming
power.
K2 has 3D support
inbuilt at its very core. The programming and playback environments display
real moving objects as realistic graphical representations. These are
positioned in a 3D space in the correct proportions and relations to the stage,
set and other items as well as other moving objects.
All these graphical items
can be created in industry standard CAD packages and imported directly into K2. Programming
then becomes very simple, with manipulation of the moving objects as
straightforward as click-and-drag.
Cues can be simulated and
rehearsed in full 3D before being run for real, complete with multiple viewing
angles and user controlled camera views allowing the operator to be sure that
no aspects of the movement or its interaction with other elements is
hidden.
User programmable limits and
clamps allow envelopes of motion to be easily constructed around objects. When
combined with numerous other safety features and extensive feedback to the
user, the programmer can be in complete control of the devices they are
running.
K2 is not just
limited to winches and chain hoists. Any
number of devices can be connected to this powerful and flexible system. It
also offers full support for hydraulics and pneumatics.
Personality files make
integrating new mechanical devices into the system very straightforward, with
minimal additional configuration needed.
K2 will be running
numerous demonstrations throughout PLASA.
These will vary between pre-programmed sequences and moves suggested by
visitors to the show.
Come and see for yourself
how quick and easy K2 is to program and
operate at the Kinesys stand.
Elevation
1+
Kinesys is also showing its
renowned Elevation 1+ and Velocity variable speed motor controllers. These will be controlling both chain hoists
and winches proving their flexibility and power. As a chain hoist controller, the Elevation 1+
is not tied to any one specific hoist manufacturer, allowing users to choose
exactly the right hoist for the application without needing to change their
control system. This methodology has
been proven in practice, with existing users supplying the same system to
control both miniature CM Prostars and high speed 20m/min Liftkets.
Several years of use in the
field has resulted in huge support for Kinesys’ Elevation system from lighting
designers, operators, riggers and production managers. All appreciate the ease
and flexibility of rigging, the inbuilt manual controls, and simple cabling and
handset controllers that are integral design features.
