ELC, developer of DMX ethernet distribution products, DMX show recorders and more, will be celebrating two strangely apposite milestones at this year’s PLASA Show. Not only is it their 10th Birthday but the 2007 show will mark the moment when the company sell the 2007th of their FocusHAND/FocusBRAIN wireless DMX remote control units.

Designed to allow remote control of lanterns in a rig with any lighting consoles, the current FocusBRAIN XL and FocusHAND2 both offer the same compact, rugged handheld remote, coupled with wireless receivers that merge control from the remote with the DMX data from the lighting console, giving an operator direct control of DMX channels independently of the lighting console. The FocusHAND2 is the perfect rigger’s remote; the FocusBRAIN XL adds show back-up functionality, with fifty scene memories that can be captured directly from the lighting desk.

The sale of the 2007th unit will be marked by a presentation to its lucky purchaser on the first day of the PLASA Show, Sunday 9th September, on ELC’s stand, D77 - part of the White Light Zone in Earl’s Court 2, which the PLASA Show is expanding into this year. Also on hand will be representatives from the Royal Albert Hall. The RAH were the purchasers of the very first FocusBRAIN sold in the UK and are still using the system today.

Visitors to the stand will also be able to find out more about the complete range of ELC products, which includes the showSTORE XLan, offering real-time recording and playback of four DMX universes, the Sidekick Fader wing, and the complete range of DMX to ethernet and ethernet to DMX nodes, currently being used on the new musical Never Forget.

ELC can be found on stand D77, part of the White Light Zone in Earl’s Court 2. The White Light Zone is just inside the main doors to the Hall, and will also feature the other manufacturers in the White Light family: LSC, Robert Juliat, Rainbow, Look Solutions, LDDE, Wireless Solutions as well as White Light itself and the return of its ever-popular White Light Bar.
