Preparations for PLASA07 at Earls Court in September are hotting up with the announcement of this year's feature-packed agenda for DJs. There'll be an impressive new layout, some great new features, a dedicated programme of events for DJs and scores of the latest developments in DJ and VJ technology, including mixers, video kits, effects, microphones, headphones and a host of related gear. As a result, the show organisers are anticipating a strong DJ attendance, bolstered by the fact that the leading manufacturers have all signed up to PLASA07, amongst them Allen & Heath, beyerdynamic, Ecler, Formula Sound, Harman Pro, Intimidation Kool Sound, Lamba, M Audio, Martin Professional, Miltec, Numark Alesis, Rane DJ, Sennheiser, Shure, Soundcraft and Yamaha. The four-day programme of events for DJs (sponsored by DJ Magazine) will feature a full line-up of demonstrations, product launches and Q&A sessions - all of them FREE to attend. UK distributor M-Audio will be demonstrating the latest version of the music production software Ableton Live; Rane DJ and Serato will be showing off Serato Video Scratch, a new plug-in for Scratch LIVE; Allen & Heath will be holding demonstrations on MIDI Mixing with their new range of Xone MIDI systems; Numark will be showcasing the new Mixmeister Fusion software and beyerdynamic will feature a 'plug and play' PA, using Dynacord systems, together with their own radio mics, to highlight what's possible. There's be plenty of things going on throughout the show, with Earls Court's many bars and cafes the ideal places to catch up with the rest of the music and entertainment technology industry. Plus, on Sunday night, DJ Magazine will be staging their twelfth annual Tech Awards at the Ministry of Sound. Time to make a date in the diary and get online to register for the main DJ event of the year.
