Exhibiting for the fifth time in her existence, Alcons Audio will be present at the ProLight & Sound show with a number of novelties, including an interesting "design-study".

After lengthily internal discussions, the Alcons R&D team has decided to clear the "Phitom" design study for exhibition on the Alcons stand. This evolutionary design concept is a study on how to implement pro-ribbon technology into a large-scale sound reinforcement system. Utilizing a complete new generation of extreme-power pro-ribbon transducer technology, as well as new state-of-the-art cone driver designs, this development platform is without doubt the highlight of the Alcons stand and arguably of all (large-scale) sound-reinforcement exhibits at the show. "HiFi at concert SPL's" has always been seen as the "Holy Grail" of sound reinforcement market; PHITOM shows that Holy Grail is within reach.

The Digital Drive Processor, DDPTM is an exchangeable processing device, complementary to the Alcons ALC controller-amplifiers. It caters for improved ease-of-use in the handling and controlling of Alcons sound systems; Every Alcons system and system configuration can be found in the DDP library. A very important step forward in Alcons' "system synergy" philosophy.

Another showing is the QB363: Featuring a triple-12" array-configuration, the QB363 acts as a modular low-end extension of the QR-series pro-ribbon column arrays. With the similar front shape of the QR36 and QM36, this bass system operates completely within the acoustic line-array parameters in vertical (or even horizontal) tight bass arrays up to or even beyond 10 meters.

Extending the line-up of the B-series, the BF151 is a new, front-loaded bass system, featuring a single 15" long-excursion high-power woofer (with vented double-spider); in combination with Alcons' proprietary Signal Integrity SensingTM pre-wiring, the BF151 delivers high quality, tight and accurate bass response.

Of course, a selection of other Alcons products will be on show, including the QR36 ribbon-array columns, the LR16 pro-ribbon line-array, now performing in the Theater am Potzdammerplatz in Berlin and the LR14 ultra-compact ribbon line-array, which was installed in the Stuttgarter Staatsoper.
