KLOTZ DIGITAL introduced its new audio router VENICE for the first time at NAB 2008 in Las Vegas Convention Centre. VENICE has been designed as a perfect router for complex applications where an enormous number of channels need to be routed and a comprehensive router system is required, for example in huge broadcast centres and all kinds of large switching rooms.

The new VENICE router offers a routing capacity of up to 2624x2624 channels and an almost unlimited router size can be achieved by cascading multiple VENICE units. It offers full implementation and support of optical and coax MADI standard protocols as well as KLOTZ DIGITAL's VADIS fibre optic network.

The unique StudioNet OCTO-BUS is also supported as well as the new and future proof IT standard for audio- and video platforms: "Ethernet AV" (IEEE 802.1 AVB). VENICE is acting as a central star point in decentralized and networked multimedia platforms and is combining the various standards and protocols to an intelligent and powerful integrated media network. VENICE has versatile synchronisation capabilities including AES sync, word clock in and word clock through.

All principal functions are controlled via LEDs, status display and via an Ethernet port, allowing VENICE to be fully integrated into KLOTZ DIGITAL's VADIS control network. Of course this includes full integration into VADIS software, offering all benefits and workflow efficiencies provided by VADIS Workflow Tools.

In addition to OCOT-BUS and VADIS, VENICE is compatible to all other KLOTZ DIGITAL components and technical equipment, such as Routing Control Panels (RCP), VADIS D.C.II and DECENNIUM. To guarantee maximum reliability and failure safety VENICE has built-in redundancy - from redundant fibre I/O to redundant power supply with separate power inlet to sync redundancy. A hot standby router guarantees full system redundancy.
