MIPRO Announce New Wireless System PDF Print E-mail

MIPRO, in conjunction with Fuzion plc, introduce a revolutionary new second-generation encrypted digital wireless system designed to overcome the inevitable problems faced by today's conventional analogue and hybrid wireless microphone systems. Fuzion plc, MIPRO’s UK distributors, have been working closely with MIPRO to engineer the system specifically for the UK and European market.

The ACT-82 is a high-quality digital wireless dual-channel receiver providing crystal-clear, secure and interference-free audio transmission. It features 24-bit audio quality, 10 preset EQs (each consisting of 32 parametric filters), true digital RF transmission, proprietary DigitnamicPlus technology and full-colour VFD (Vacuum Fluorescent Display), all housed in a compact 1U case. A wordclock in/out facility is provided to sync digital outputs on the receivers to a central system clock. Digital RF filters offer more sophisticated selectivity to allow much better rejection of adjacent channel interference. With intuitive and accessible controls for easy set-up using a single rotary switch and MIPRO’s ACT (Automatic Channel Targeting) technology for fast channel set-up, this system really does push the boundaries of radio technology.

Data from the synthesised transmitters can be easily encrypted using a highly secure 128-bit (RC4-derived) encryption system onboard the transmitter, thus rendering the system extremely secure for use in sensitive environments. Even a user possessing the same model receiver cannot decode the encrypted signal and listen in to the transmission. The hand held and body pack transmitters accept programming information directly from the receiver via Infrared to program themselves to the desired operating frequency. Hence, effectively all microphones in each band are the same - no need for frequency-specific transmitters. Battery life is an impressive 8 hours continuous use from a single battery, and the battery is easily removed for charging in-situ or separately from the transmitter body. Body packs have been designed to allow fast battery charge but provide a very strong (performer-proof) fixing method for the specially designed rechargeable lithium polymer batteries. Both transmitters have been developed with a lockout facility to stop performers inadvertently turning the units off or changing parameters.

The major issue for the UK has been to place the operating bands on the system within what will ultimately be available following the RF spectrum sell off completion in 2012. The new ACT-82 will consist of three systems operating on specially selected frequencies, allowing optimised coverage of all the available channel space in the UK.

New remote control software for the Digital System allows users to set up and control large-scale systems, set specific frequencies and also look at the RF environment to scan for potential interference - very useful for pointing out and avoiding rogue transmitters in your licensed area.

The ACT-82 is ideal for studio, stage and music performances, as well as military, courtroom, boardroom and broadcast applications. In fact, anywhere audio security and accurate, distortion-free reproduction of the full sound spectrum is required.
