Shown at this year's Pro Light & Sound exhibition, and building on the success of the VerTec product line, the VT4887ADP is a three-way, self-powered line array element with comprehensive on-board digital signal processing. The compact design of the VT4887 completes the VerTec range, with the VT4888 medium format, and full scale VT4889 systems.

Designed for sound touring, and larger fixed venue installations, the VT4887ADP houses two 8 inch woofers, four 4 inch midrange radiators, and two 1 inch exit HF drivers. Developed in conjunction with sister companies, Crown and dbx, the JBL DP2 DrivePack provides 2200 watts peak/ 1100 watts continuous power, from its high-efficiency patented Class-I amp circuitry. Onboard DSP functions communicate readiness and operational status, and monitors fault detection of components and electronics. The advanced VerTec -class transducers provide high power-to-weight ratio; including all on-board electronics, system weight is just 39.7 kg/ 87.5 lbs.

The VT4881ADP is a compact, lightweight, arrayable, vented sub-bass enclosure. The enclosure utilises JBL's exclusive new 2269G Ultra Long Excursion 460 mm/ 18 inch Differential Drive^® transducer, and the sub optimised JBL DP1 DrivePack. The DP1 provides integrated power and DSP functions, delivering 3,600 watts peak/ 1,800 watts continuous power from Crown's proprietary Class-I amp circuitry. Like VT4887ADP, the VT4881DPA sub boasts an exceptional power-to-weight ratio, at just 62.2 kg/ 137 lbs.

In addition to the standard features on the DrivePack modules, optional DrivePack Analogue (DPA) or DrivePack CobraNet^TM (DPCN) cards can be fitted. These provide Ethernet networking with HiQnet^TM control, enabling remote configuration and monitoring with HiQnet^TM System Architect software on either Mac or Windows based PCs. The DPCN card additionally provides CobraNet^TM capability, carrying up to 64 channels of digital audio on the network.

Rigging and suspension hardware features quick release pins and end-mounted metal frames to couple adjacent units.
