nt55withbox.jpg Exclusive UK distributor HHB Communications is delighted to announce that the new Røde NT55 compact condenser microphone is now shipping.

Designed for any situation where a small unobtrusive microphone system is required, the NT55 uses the same 1/2² gold sputtered true condenser transducer as the acclaimed Rode NT5, and with the same wide dynamic range and full frequency response, the NT55 is perfectly suited to all live and recording applications - particularly instrument mic¹ing.

The NT55 comes as standard with two interchangeable heads - namely the NT45-FC flat cardioid capsule and the NT45-O omnidirectional capsule - thus providing true flexibility by allowing the user to change polar patterns to suit each recording situation.

Rather than subscribing to a Œone-size-fits-all¹ approach, Røde have ensured that the mic settings can be tailored to the task at hand with a 3-position pad (providing 0, -10 or 20 dB attenuation) and a variable high-pass filter, allowing you to step from a flat response to a 75 or 150Hz filter.

Powered by standard 48V phantom power, the NT55 has an electronically balanced low impedance output and a newly designed preamplifier circuit to ensure the lowest self-noise levels possible.

The microphone comes complete with a hard case and RM5 mic clip.

Howard Jones, Director of Distributed Brands at HHB Communications, comments: ³Once again Røde has responded to customer demand and delivered a truly flexible and affordable microphone - and by including two interchangeable capsules as standard, we¹re sure that users will recognise the NT55 as exceptional value for money. While it obviously excels as an instrument mic, the NT55¹s superb quality and low-noise performance also make it ideal for theatre, television, film and even environmental recording.²
