mbox_extreme Ask a lighting designer why he uses a media server and he'll say "the ability to respond quickly to the needs of the show" - ease of control, the ability to manipulate content on the fly and the flexibility to make changes in real time. Demonstrated for the first time in the UK at PLASA 2006, the Mbox Extreme media server from PRG satisfies all these criteria  and more.

One of the simplest and easiest media servers around, the Mbox Extreme puts a full editing suite at your fingertips. Programming is more streamlined, with crossfades between clips being created on a single layer, so there's always enough layers to do everything you want. And with an unsurpassed accuracy when it comes to playback, finished clips are projected with pinpoint.

Since its introduction at LDI 2005, the Mbox Extreme has built up a tremendous following, having been used on Broadway shows, opera and corporate events alike. During 2006 Lestat - a short-lived but technically acclaimed Broadway production - saw eight Mbox Extreme media servers being used to synchronise and edge-blend multiple projections to form the large images that had been conceived for the show. Anything less than perfection would not have been acceptable.

For corporate events, where ideas about the presentation can change from minute to minute, Mbox Extreme gives absolute control over the video output, allowing you to make changes and manipulate the image in real-time. The vast on-board library of images, textures and 3D models enables the creation of unique video shorts, panoramic multi-screen shows and the layering of texture and colour over still images or video.

One of the most powerful media servers available, Mbox Extreme works on a cue-based system, so when the desired play look is achieved, you simply save it into the cue list on the console, or apply it on the fly during the show, so you get easy, seamless integration of lighting cues and video and image effects.

Quite simply, with Mbox Extreme, you are in control.
