ADB Lighting announces a major upgrade of the ISIS software that powers its top-of-the-range PHOENIX and MENTOR lighting control desks. Software Version 2.34 - available by download from ADB - now includes CUE LIST functions, allowing up to 96 simultaneous crossfades to be run from any physical or virtual submaster on a PHOENIX or MENTOR desk. Cue lists are sequences of memories, which can be set not only in a numerical sequence but also freely defined by the operator. The operator can include and edit channels and the proportional intensity level of memories in each step of the cue list. The cue list function is very useful, specially when controlling large numbers of moving lights and addressing dedicated parameters in complex lighting situations. For example, one set of cues can control the pan and tilt movements of the fixtures, and at the same time another set of cues can control only colour or gobo parameters of the same group of moving lights. A multitude of cue lists can be created and called back in an instant, whenever required. This makes it possible to create many different looks from a single base memory by running superimposed memory loops or so-called cue lists, which are allocated to different submasters at the same time. Once created, the cue list can be controlled not only manually by the operator but also incorporated into the sequential show playback by using the intelligent LINK function, already included in the ISIS software. Other applications can be dedicated cues running in different areas of large venues, and the creation of complex effects that extend the creative possibilities of the onboard effect generators. This new feature greatly expands the boundaries of creative lighting opportunities for the lighting designer and operator. Other new features included in the latest release of ADB ISIS software are the ability to control 16-bit intensity parameters, now included in some moving lights and mechanical dimmers, while up to 9,999 memories in a show can be fully addressed. Further multiple editing of moving light parameters and copying of parameter values has been enhanced by an extended PART COPY function, allowing the manipulation of multiple fixtures across a given range of memories. This enhanced function makes it easier for the operator to add and edit additional fixtures in a range or sequence of memories. Best of all is that the recent upgrade is available free of charge for existing ISIS version 2.00 installations, and is downloadable from the ADB website. All new ISIS-driven control desks are shipped with the new version 2.34 of ISIS.
