The Hoosiers max out on Martin MACsThe Hoosiers have just completed a successful tour of a variety of venues across the UK and Martin was with them all the way. With a brief in mind, show designer Chris Bushell set to work. "The overall look of the show was to be a dark, cartoon like theatre set, with 2D cutout set pieces silhouetted against the backdrop. I co-designed the set with the band and tour manager Thomas Stone so I had the freedom to get the lights positioned how I wanted them to achieve the maximum effect. With a mixture of MAC 2000 Washes and Performances with standard gobo sets and Fresnel lenses respectively the lighting on this show packed quite a punch." comments Bushell.

All 12 MAC 2000 Performances were on the mid and back trusses and on drop-arms off the back truss. Along with 8 MAC 2000 Washes, a further 7 MAC 2000 Washes took care of the entire front light needs. "Four were placed on the downstage floor to act as kickers" said Chris. There were also 11 Atomic 3000DMX rigged on the mid and back truss sections.

Chris had nothing but praise for how well the Martin kit had stood up to the rigors of nightly touring for a month, "Combining MAC 2000 Washes and MAC 2000 Performances is obviously going to be a great match. They have all performed really well and held their own against the ever brightening world of LED fixtures. The Martin element of this design seems to balance out really well, nothing too overpowering but still packing the punches where needed."

The rig for this tour was supplied by Neg Earth, who also supplied two techs for the duration of the tour, which is the largest tour The Hoosiers have embarked on, with venues ranging from 1500 to 5000 in capacity.
