“We purchased the ZED-14 consoles to replace an ageing fleet, which was used predominantly in our corporate events services division. We first encountered the ZED range at PLASA 07 and were very impressed by the additional features that the units offer over our existing stock,” explains Blitz Communications’ Rob Faulkner. Blitz Communications has provided conference, theatre and special event technical support for over 13 years. The company’s sound division has its roots firmly in West End theatre but now provides services to many major corporate clients.
“Some of the 20 models have been deployed in conference sessions at our subsidiary branch at London’s EXCEL centre, and we sent one out to Rome last week, we think it had a nice time!” continues Faulkner. Blitz’s hire stock also carries consoles from Yamaha, Cadac and Digico. The PA systems are predominantly d&b, with Opus, Tannoy and EAW options for theatre clients. Wireless microphones are almost exclusively Sennheiser and communications systems are from RTS and Clearcom. “We’re keen to buy more ZED mixers as we supply a huge amount of small shows, and little reliable consoles are a necessity,” Faulkner concludes.

Hertfordshire-based AV company, Blitz Communications, has purchased a total of twenty ZED-14 consoles from Allen & Heath’s new range of small-format USB mixers for live performance, recording and production. The move is part of a mass upgrade of the company’s existing compact mixer stock, which was becoming unreliable.
