The CMA Awards' set was designed by Bruce Rodgers, president of Tribe Inc., and winner of the 2006 Parnelli "Set Designer of the Year" award. All equipment and staging expertise was provided by Moo TV. Rodgers' multi-layered set featured a center "hero" screen originating from multiple Barco FLM HD18 projectors, two vertically oriented bookend screens using Barco SLite 10xp LED tiles, plus numerous architectural elements comprised of Barco MiSPHERE and MiTRIX modules. Image processing and digitizing for each display was handled exclusively by multiple Barco DX-700 processors. "With 287 SLite 10xp panels, 280 MiTRIX modules, eight HD18 projectors and two Barco R12+ projectors on the set, they never had to be touched for the entire week," noted Scott Scovill, President and owner of Moo TV. The new DX-700's performed remarkably well, and we had no trouble controlling them wirelessly throughout the arena. The image quality was exceptional, but more important, everyone was thrilled at how it looked on camera. That, to me, is very impressive." "Once again, Moo TV has designed a superb technical solution to a remarkable set design," said Steve Scorse, Vice President of Sales for Barco's Media and Entertainment division. "We're very pleased that they continue to select Barco projection and LED products. Whether the event is local or national, their engineering expertise continues to generate excitement for every audience."
