ADLIB worked with the band's FOH and monitor engineers Jason Decter and Paris Lahr on the Plain White T's tour last year. This went very well, with ADLIB Audio Lighting also involved, so this time with PATD, they returned to ADLIB for all their UK sound production requirements. "The VerTec system is amazing and I know how it reacts whatever the circumstances," says Decter explaining his choice of system, adding "James (Neale, ADLIB FOH systems engineer) made the rig sing no matter what the acoustics on that initial tour, so it really was a natural choice to return to ADLIB this time around". The PATD tour played a variety of small to medium venues, so they needed a system that would perform well in ground stacked as well as flown formats, and again VerTec fitted the bill perfectly. The full rig consisted of 20 VerTec 4889 elements - 10 per side, with 16 VT4880A subs. Dector mixed using a Midas H3000 audio console, with dbx 160 Blue Series valve compressors and dbx 160s, plus Lake DLPs for processing throughout. For effects, ADLIB supplied an Empirical Labs' distressor, an Eventide H3000 harmoniser and 2 Yamaha SPX 990s. The system was powered by Camco Vortex 6 amplifiers. Onstage, monitors were 6 pairs of ADLIB's popular low profile MP3 wedges and an ADLIB drum sub, and the band supplied all their own microphones. James Neale was joined by Steve "Patto" Pattison who looked after all the monitor requirements. "Everything with ADLIB is a good all-round experience," says Decter. "Client manager Phil Kielty is always on top of the game and he's another big reason why I use them. I'd highly recommend ADLIB to anyone looking for production needs - large or small".
