Flightcase manufacturer 5 Star has supplied audio specialists RCF UK with a complete set of flight cases for their TTL33-A line array demonstration system.

The order consisted of 10 cases in total. Six Tour Grade ‘top hat' trunks house the TTL33-A Line array system - with 2 modules per case, then 2 of 5 Star's Euro Trucker general purpose cases destined primarily for transporting a variety of smaller products together for various trade shows and dealer events that RCF UK office stages around the UK. One Heavy Industrial 2-way case was supplied for a pair of TT25-SMA stage monitors and one case for a pair of RCF TT08-A compact speakers.

Heavy Industrial is the slightly lighter weight alternative to Tour Grade and was selected by 5 Star's design team as the best option based on the equipment weight. A 9mm ply carcass is the basis of the Heavy Industrial construction, whilst the Tour Grade trunks utilise 12mm ply throughout. Tour Grade has a 35mm aluminium angle protection on the exposed edges, whereas Heavy Industrial uses 30mm profile.

"We've used 5 Star before, and they have always delivered excellent service and products" comments RCF UK's Greg Oliver.

With the TT products aimed at the ‘Touring & Theatre' market, RCF UK specifically wanted cases fitting the needs of this sector. All were finished in a striking royal blue high pressure laminate (HPL), a task completed by 5 Star's in-house screen printing team.

Andy Halford was RCF's UK office main contact at 5 Star. After discussing the precise requirements, Halford designed the cases. "5 Star really know their business" continues Oliver, "While I also know what I want from a case, they were able to advise on certain aspects as they know exactly what does and doesn't work".

He adds that the whole process was extremely smooth and efficient with 5 Star keeping them updated at every stage.
