Halo's Steve Marley needed flightcases for the new fixtures and so asked several different case companies to quote on the project 5 Star came back with the most imaginative, practical and cost-effective options and therefore won the business! They offered 3 different formats of case - ranging from a relatively simple ‘transit' case up to the split-bodied road trunk, from which Marley chose the top spec. The ‘split bodied road trunk' is from the ‘Super Tour' specification, popular with touring companies for its sheer strength and durability. The luminaire is held on a foam protected load plate, which is CNC machined and features further support rails beneath. Also included are simple and versatile storage boxes for the spare lenses and accessories. Marley selected this particular style of case for many reasons, including the fact they are ‘quarter-pack' for standard truck width, and fit neatly across the back of the trailer. Also because, with minimal fuss, the case can be split into two halves, each housing one fixture - as an extra set of doors are available as an option. "This was a really brilliant idea and clinched it for me" confirms Marley. Other advantages are that it's only a 1 inch lift up and slide out to remove the Robe 1200 unit from the case..... which is already proving hugely popular with all the crews. The whole project was turned round in lightening quick time by 5 Star when Halo made a snap decision to buy the lights, and needed to case them ASAP! Halo has used 5 Star a couple of times before, but Marley confirms that he is "Very happy" with the results and will definitely be returning for more orders in the future, including for more special Robe 1200 cases which will be needed very soon.
