The 2007 TPi Awards - which recognise the industry's most innovative and ambitious technical, creative and production achievements - were presented at a star-studded ceremony in west London on 5th February. The win follows an incredible year for XL Video worldwide, and was collected by members of the XL Video UK team. XL Video also won this coveted award in 2002, 2003 and 2005. XL UK's Chris Mounsor comments, "Winning the 2007 Award means a huge amount to us, particularly as its voted on by our peers, giving it even more credibility and significance." Video wise, XL has worked with some of the most aesthetically daring artists throughout in 2006, including Robbie Williams' "Close Encounters", Depeche Mode's "Touring The Angel", George Michael's "Live 25" and Kylie's "Showgirl Homecoming" tour. "The imaginative use of LED technologies has definitely stepped up a notch during 2006" confirms Mounsor, adding "I'd also like to take the opportunity to thank all our crews and those out there representing us on the ‘frontline', on tours, events and festivals. It's a team effort and everyone's collective energies and expertise count towards us winning this Award". Additionally, Blue Leach who regularly works with XL Video, won the ‘Video Director of the Year' Award. His work last year included the phenomenal Depeche Mode "Touring The Angel" as mentioned above, and Snow Patrol, with XL UK also supplying the video equipment and crew.
