PLASA Events Ltd, the wholly-owned events division of the Professional Lighting and Sound Association (PLASA), has expanded its team recently with the appointment of a new sales manager.

Diana Bandy, who has four years' experience in publishing sales, joins Director of Events Nicky Rowland and Operations Manager Sophie Matthews at PLASA Events' offices at Earls Court in London, home of the PLASA Show, leading the sales programme for the new-look PLASA07 Show.

The redesigned show will use both halls of Earls Court for the first time in its 30 year history, with new features including a dedicated fast-track entrance for pre-registered visitors via Earls Court 2, new meeting and wi-fi lounges, an expanded ESTA Pavilion, hands-on workshop areas, a new PLASA Theatre which will host a series of Masterclasses, and a central PLASA Bar and Meeting Lounge that will open until 8pm on the first three evenings of the show.

Exhibition space sales stand at 83% per cent overall at the middle of April, with nearly 80 per cent of the available space in Earls Court 2 already claimed.

Enlarging its events division will also allow PLASA to focus on the forthcoming roll-out of regional events, with details to be revealed shortly, as part of PLASA's ambition to develop a new strand of events for the industry.

Director of Events Nicola Rowland comments: "The initial remit of PLASA Events is to bring the PLASA show organisation in-house and to create new opportunities both to grow the show and secure its future as a key international event in the industry calendar. This new division also allows PLASA to look at broadening the scope of its events, for the benefit of PLASA Members and the industry as a whole.
