UK based automation specialist Kinesys announces a European distribution agreement that is a joint venture between Sonoss, based in France, and Louis Reyners from The Netherlands. The two companies have exclusive distribution of Kinesys' chain hoist related control products - including the new K2 3D visualization and control system and the renowned Elevation 1+ hoist controller - to Benelux, Germany, France, Spain, Austria, Switzerland and Denmark. Dave Weatherhead from Kinesys explains that these companies were chosen because, "They are well established, have excellent reputations in their markets and both are already selling complementary products, including chain hoists, cable, basic fixed speed control and so on." Both companies are CM Master Distributors and have extensive contacts and experience of working in the entertainment industry. Sonoss also has a rental operation that hires equipment to clients in addition to selling. This allows clients to test the water with new and innovative products without initially having to commit large sums of money. Weatherhead adds, "Sonoss's contacts with rental lighting and rigging companies are also excellent, so we're confident they will spread Kinesys brand awareness quickly and comprehensively". Sonoss's Philippe Coudyser observes, "Entertainment industry rigging industry is moving constantly towards new technology. Increasingly complex stage designs are requiring the accuracy of computerised rigging solutions, and we strongly believe that Kinesys will bring lots of value into this market". Kinesys intends that the new distribution deal will allow them to match in Europe the unparalleled reputation they have in the UK for service, reliability and providing easy-to-use systems for both designers and operators. Hans Gitsels from Louise Reyner's adds, "Strong points about Kinesys include offering a selection of different control systems - from basic to very high tech - and that they are user-friendly modular systems. K2's visualization capabilities are really unique." Weatherhead feels that the new K2 PC based control system will be very successful in Europe. He also thinks that the flexibility of the Kinesys' method of allowing the adaptation from fixed to variable speed and back - on a wide variety of industry standard motors - will make it very popular. Sonoss and Louis Reyners will have stands at ProLight and Sound in Frankfurt and at Showtech 2007 in Berlin, plus many other international trade shows throughout the year. Kinesys systems have recently been/or still are out on tour with The Killers, Keane, Nelly Furtado, The Feeling, Muse and Lionel Ritchie - among others.
