Large format projection specialists /ETC/ launch two ground-breaking new products at the Heavent 2007 show in Paris next week - OnlyView 3D and the Focal Triple.

OnlyView 3D

This is a completely new and evolutionary development to /ETC/'s dynamic OnlyView video control platform, which integrates real-time 3D video mapping across multiple projectors onto moving objects, enabling projected video content to move along with them.

This is an industry first - no other system offers this much functionality or flexibility in real-time.

OnlyView 3D is a brand new interface, built from /ETC/'s considerable experience in the field and after listening extensively to user-feedback. It offers optimized performance, new effects and a powerful onboard 3D engine.

The real-time element makes it incredibly quick to programme, easy to edit ‘on-the-fly' and to work with generally, giving instant results as no time is lost waiting for rendering.

OnlyView 3D is innately user-friendly and has the look and feel of standard video editing and compositing software, so graphic designers, video artists and filmmakers will immediately feel familiar with the system.

Operators can import 3D objects into a show programme which can then be manipulated and animated independently and directly.

Layers of projected images are completely wrapped around objects using the comprehensive edge-blending techniques for which OnlyView is renowned.

OnlyView 3D also offers improved capabilities for technicians, including easier line-up and multiple independent timelines running across multiple projectors.

Applications for OnlyView 3D will be all types of live shows and presentations  - corporate, TV, theatre, concerts, son et lumières, etc., -  large and small - and any scenario needing video to be tracked onto shaped objects, sets or scenery.

The product has been specifically designed for ease of use in live environments. With increasingly pressured timescales, it will be a huge boost for multimedia events and awards ceremonies that have a tendency for media content to keep evolving right up till the last minute.

Focal Triple

Devised by /ETC/'s engineering department, this special effect is a combination of three elements that triples the focal length - and therefore the throw distance - of a standard video projector when fitted to the front of the machine.

The Focal Triple is ideal for corporate presentations and will also be perfect for stadium shows and other large outdoor events with a requirement to throw a precise image long distances without losing intensity or quality.

Booth D20/E73

/ETC/ is collaborating with three other international companies at Heavent 2007, all leaders in their fields, who have pooled resources and ideas to design and build Booth D20/E73.

They are UK-based Stage One, specialists in automation systems, stage machinery and set creations; Anglo-French draping and material specialists Blackout, and LED, lighting and sound rental house, Lumière et Son Paris. Together they will highlight a great professional synergy and a full gamut of state-of-the-art entertainment technology on an eye-catchingly visual booth.

Centerpiece of the stand is a demonstration of OnlyView 3D involving a 2 x 2 x 2 metre cube placed on a revolve built by Stage One. As it moves around, the cube will be completely covered in projections beamed from 4 video projectors rigged to the four corners of the demo area. Visitors will be able to operate /ETC/'s system hands-on and experience for themselves its power and ease of use. They can also see the Focal Triple in action.
